LEGO® Challenge Workshops

LEGO® Challenge Workshops

Hi, my name is Alexandra and I’m a Visitor Attraction Assistant at New Lanark World Heritage Site. I have been lucky enough to be able to plan the Lego Challenge Workshops for the Brick City Exhibition. It’s been great fun building all the models and mosaics and finding out how Lego works. My favourite things to build are mosaics and castles. I’ve also visited the Lego Clubs at Lanark Library and Low Parks Museum in Hamilton to see what they’ve been building.

The Challenge workshops are an opportunity to test your creativity and Lego building skills. Each session is 45 minutes and best suited to people six and over. Children must be accompanied by an adult. As there is a new theme every week, you can come back and do a different workshop. Booking is essential. The themes are: towers, bridges; mosaics; cars and mazes.  The workshops will take on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3rd July to 2nd August. There are two  workshops a day at 10.30 and 2.30. Some of the Challenges will be fast-paced and against the clock.

You will get a chance to work in pairs and teams to build: the highest tower and the best castle; the longest and the strongest bridge; the most creative mosaic; the fastest balloon car and the most confusing maze. You will be helped with your Challenges by New Lanark’s friendly staff and volunteers. It will be a great way to meet new friends who love playing with Lego. I’ll be looking forward to meeting you in July and August.
